Gearbox with Electromagnetic Clutch and Pulley Drive Design Course: Mechanical Design II

This is a CAD model and section view of an industrial gearbox with an electromagnetic clutch and pulley drive that I submitted for my Mechanical Design II course project. The model's shafts, gears, bearings, bolts, keyways, and splines were designed on MITcalc: a software for mechanical, industrial, and technical calculations. The clutch was designed on KISSsoft, and the full assembly was modeled on SolidWorks.

Boat Carrier Design
Course: Mechanical Design I

Project Collaborators: Nour El Sheikh & Mohamed Abed

This is a render image of the CAD model that my group and I submitted for our Mechanical Design I group project. The leaf spring suspension, axle, bolts, and carrier frame were designed on MITcalc, and the assembly was modeled on SolidWorks.

CNC and EDM Machined Phone Case Mold
Course: Advanced Manufacturing Processes
Project Collaborators: Hana El Khawanki, Omar Tamer, Hashim Ismail, & Hossam Abouelenein

This is a mold for injection molding a phone case that we designed and manufactured for our Advanced Manufacturing Processes course project. The "Key of Life" symbol was manufactured with Electric Discharge Machining (EDM), and the mold halves, ejection hole, and fixing pins were modeled on SolidWorks and exported to PowerMill for a tool path code. This code was then exported to G Code for our CNC machine to execute.

NURBS Modelling
Course: Computer Aided Design & Prototyping
Project Collaborator: Mohamed Abed

This is a snapshot of the output of one of our group projects for our Computer Aided Design & Prototyping course. This represents the implementation of the non-uniform rational basis splines (NURBS) model for representing a curve or a surface from a number of random points selected by the user. We used MATLAB for coding and representing this work.
